The Best Editor's Picks Tools

These are the 12 generative AI tools that we use regularly. We’re not advocating using all of these in one workflow, but being a publisher and working with content companies, they certainly lend a helping hand for applicable tasks.

ChatGPT is the most helpful all round tool, but we’ve found Google Gemini to be a close second – it’s possibly better if you regularly use Google Docs.

We use Midjourney regularly to generate images for our Insights section, and often use Perplexity and NotebookLM to assist with research.

We make a lot of video for clients, and HeyGen is excellent for AI avatars, Eleven Labs the best of its kind for voice cloning, while Runway is the most accessible high end video generator.

For editing, FireCut is a superb Adobe Premiere, while OpusClip is excellent for converting 16:9 video in vertical social media ready clips. Descript is also great for a range of editing tasks, but is a must have for audio editing.

Lastly, if you want an automated workflow tool to bring all the above together, then we’re regular users of make.com.
